Moss Garden Meander

Tall Carnarvon fan palms frame towering cliffs in Carnarvon Gorge.

Classic Carnarvon Scenery

The walk into the Moss Garden has some of Carnarvon's classic views. As you approach the mouth of Violet Gorge, the cliffs start to close in around you - towering above ancient palms and multiple creeks.

Ceaseless dripping spring-water supports a lush growth of moss on the walls of the Moss Garden, Carnarvon Gorge.

Spring is here.

We mean that quite literally! The Moss Garden is supported by the largest spring in the Gorge. Over one hundred metres of sandstone cliff produces drop after drop of water, which is why the waterfall has never run dry in recent history.

Australian Nature Guide, Michelle Whitehouse, prepares a hot beverage for her guests in the Moss Garden, Carnarvon Gorge.

Tranquili-tea

What better way to enjoy some quality time in Violet Gorge than to enjoy a hot cuppa and some home-made fruitcake next to the waterfall at the Moss Garden. Yum!
